Lethe (This River Without A Shore)

Lethe is the name of both a river and a former plantation near Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The peculiar irony of naming a historic site of brutality after the mythic river of forgetting is woven together with a symbol of a bird flying to freedom, and quotes on the Middle Passage by Martiniquais writer and poet Édouard Glissant.
